Pedi Checkup – 2 Months

August 16, 2008

It’s over…there were tears, there was fussing, there was wailing…and that was just momma and papa :)   Luke did well. We now know what the pain cry sounds like. A few minutes after his shots, he was asleep. Hopefully he stays this way for a bit as the pedi warns that today may be a fussy day. Here are his 2 month stats:

Weight – 13lbs 14oz
Height – 23.5 in

Luke is right on track for his birthweight!

Debut Star

August 16, 2008

Luke made his debut visit to my office yesterday…and boy was he the star!! Nothing like a cute lil’ boy and a mass of women. And to make it even better, Luke figured out he was the center of attention so he put on a little show! He was gooing and working his tongue, pumping his arms and smiling. The common phrase? “Oh, he’s….big” We are used to it and now lead in with “big” so people feel a little more comfortable saying what they are already thinking :)

In just a few minutes we are off to his pediatrician appointment. Today is a big day…Luke gets his first shot! We’ll let you know how it goes.

In other news…

…today is my brother’s birthday. Just wanted to say:

this is the big number 30!!

So, Luke is growing!! The pic on the left is at 18 weeks and the one on the right is at 34 weeks…just a little change:) Today we are at week 36, so only 4 more to go! Woooohooooo! We start weekly checkups this Friday. Our bag is packed, car seat set out, and we’ve mapped the route (more or less, anyway).

In other baby news, we congratulate Paul and Sarah Maney in the birth of their first child, Jonas!! Check out their blog and pics at Everything Maney.

Baby News

March 20, 2008

We had our last 4 week checkup on Tuesday and now move to checkups every 2 weeks. On Tuesday Mere survived her glucose test…it was quite entertaining watching her take the first sip of the stuff to prep herself…anyway, the test came back negative for diabetes and anemia. Weight gain and health were all great and her belly growth is slightly above average.

Now, for the best news of all, I  f i n a l l y  felt him move for the first time!!!! Nothing big, probably not even a kick, just movement :)
